For over a decade, our community knew us as 206 South, a team of volunteers and coaches dedicated to serving youth in the greater Seattle area. Rebellion Jiu-Jitsu and Barbell is built on the belief that mentorship through grappling and conjugate-based weightlifting can change the course of a young person’s life.
That mission will never change.
In 2024, we moved our base of operations to Burien and partnered with Pushing Dreams, an established 501(c)(3) non-profit, to continue and grow the mission 206 South started. Through this partnership, scholarships are awarded to train at Rebellion Jiu-Jitsu, providing world-class coaching from brothers Jaime and Zach Filer at no cost to the youth or their families.
Our goal is to ensure every young person has access to these programs.
Today, more than 40 scholarships are active at Rebellion. Our goal is to fully fund at least 15 of them through Pushing Dreams this year. Donations go directly toward covering scholarship memberships so every young person can take part and thrive.
As brothers, Jaime and Zach know the power of a strong, supportive environment and are committed to creating a culture where every young person feels connected, encouraged, and embraced as part of the family.
The 206 name may be part of our past, but the mission is alive and growing thanks to the generosity of those who believe in us and help create positive mentorship opportunities for youth in our community.
